About me

As a teenage girl fashion plays a significant part in expressing oneself. Being able to show your personality and emotions through clothing while connecting with those around you is a joy like no other. Perhaps it’s the moments of getting out of the house with those you love, going to a local thrift shop. Walking in being welcomed with that distinct scent of elderly lady perfume and a whole lot of questionable blouses. Thrifting is always an adventure and here at thoughtful thrifting I hope to show you those. Hi, my name is Amelia Grow. I am 17 years old but some may say an 80 year old at heart. I love collecting, upcycling and renewing old things that have been left behind to find a new home. I am no expert but I definitely have a good eye and imagination. From antique jewelry to grandpa sweaters I love to put together and create fashionable trendy outfits while staying on a budget and staying clear of the fast fashion trap society has set up for us. On this journey I hope to give insight on things to look out for at thrift stores, why to reuse and not buy new, and more helpful tips and tricks along the way.
